Where do you do your online shopping?
Hmm.... well, I have an Amazon Prime account so obviously amazon.com, but also newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com for electronic stuff, play-asia,com for imported video games, cdjapan.co.jp for imported cds and magazine subscriptions, thinkgeek.com for unusual geeky things, ebay.com for things I can't find elsewhere, and crescent-shop.com for overseas stores that don't ship to the US from Japan.
Well, that's it. My fall semester, and my battle with the major seminar, are over. No more literary theory, no more paper looming over my head. It's over! :D
So what have I been doing to celebrate this? Well, I received a couple of early Christmas presents from my fiancé... one of which is a Nintendo Wii, so you can kind of guess where this is going... (^_~) I'm having a blast with the motion controller - it makes EVERYTHING more entertaining, even golf XD (speaking of, I'll have to get Super Swing Golf eventually, it's just too cute!) I stuck all my code info up at WifiCo so if you have a Wii, add me and tell me your code! :D (That means you, Angel! :P) I need Wii Friends! Barring some initial internet setup snags, it seems to work great (a handful of people are getting fatal errors when they try to connect to the network so try yours out if you haven't yet!). The only other game I have right now (besides Wii Sports, I mean) is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz which is disorienting at first, but quite entertaining and I love the music! I'm planning on getting Zelda soon, and possibly Elebits but I don't know for sure.
I feel like I'm stuck in the middle sometimes because I love both Sony and Nintendo for different reasons, and I don't see them as competing with each other (even though they are). Sony has the long RPGs like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, while Nintendo has the shorter but equally fun action/adventure games like Zelda and Mario (not to mention even shorter repetitive games like Mario Kart and Super Monkey Ball). I wouldn't want to have one without the other. But whenever I visit forums for one system, I always find people who are bashing the other system or company needlessly. It gets old fast, and there are issues with every system. Blah. Anyway.
It's the countdown to Christmas! Are you done with your shopping yet?
If you haven't seen this video, then you must, absolutely, right now click and see it.
There's just nothing else to say! XD
Show us your favorite mode of transport.
Submitted by NomDeCocon.
Not necessarily that train, but I loved taking the JR when I was in Japan. Seriously, the ride from Funabashi to Akihabara or Shinjuku.... it was around an hour long, but if I had a seat (and even if I didn't) it was really relaxing watching familiar scenery go by. I don't know, it's a mode of transportation where I can get myself places instead of needing people to drive me. (And it helped that I was going places I've been crazy about for ages XD)
What are the things in life that you're truly passionate about?
Submitted by Jess.
Music. Music music music music. RPGs with good storylines and characters. (My favorites: FFIX, KH, KH2) Certain anime, but it rotates and varies from time to time. I love Sailormoon, for example, but I wouldn't say I'm passionate about it because I don't feel like I'm obsessed with it (despite having several dolls and the first two seasons on DVD.... and I loved the live action version - cheesy though it was, I still enjoyed it immensely.)
What books did you love as a child?
Submitted by hearts.
Everything. Well, not really - I did read pretty much everything, but I suppose I didn't love everything. I've read Matilda several times, and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was another favorite, but I didn't like the rest of the books in the series (though I did read them). Hmm... Cam Jansen books were ridiculously short, but that didn't keep me from reading them. Encyclopedia Brown, as well. I did read stuff like the Boxcar Children and Babysitter's Club, but I only really liked the mystery books (in fact there's one Babysitter's Club mystery book that I've read probably a hundred times but I can't remember the name... it got pretty beat up XD).
I've had a mixi since, oh, March. And I haven't written once. Until now! XD I need to keep writing as practice, but I'm really kind of rusty now. I need more experience! I need more manga, too! XD I keep watching anime and dramas but my listening comprehension is really pretty good, barring odd slang phrases (yankee talk for example, and some gal slang), and I like to think my speaking is up there as well, though I say stupid things due to speaking too fast occasionally. My reading comprehension is waaaaaay down there though. My dictionary is my crutch :P I need to pick me up some 名探偵コナン because it totally has furigana for almost EVERYTHING so I can feel smart and learn kanji XD It's like learning to read all over again... ah well. I wonder if 探偵学園Q has furigana...
Oh! Also I've been obsessing over 43things.com, 43places.com, allconsuming.com and 43people.com. My account is here! I love how it says "2006, so far, is 100% worth living." Well thank you! XD I hope 2007 will be equally nice. I need to add like 800 things to allconsuming but it's a start! 43places is my favorite out of the bunch - I've helped add a bunch of places I've been in Japan, including the Strawberry House Sanrio store which can even be seen on google's satellite map! Seriously, it's way cute and if you're ever in the area you should definitely visit it. The best part about it is that it's completely random for the area it was built in! All the other buildings are pretty normal and rather bland, so it's quite a sight to turn the corner and see a giant strawberry rising out of the grey~ (^_^)
Took this from lalaboo. I'd seen the ones you had to choose the songs, but this is random! XD I had to do it...

I'll compile these and upload 'em so you can understand the true hilariousness of the random. (Most are instrumental tracks so it's hard to understand if you haven't heard them.)
Flicker has added Vox as a blog you can post directly to! Now they're connected both ways~ I ♥ Flickr&Vox.
Let's see... so yesterday my package of goodies arrived and I've tried out my 100yen Liz Lisa sweater (it only has a
small spot on it but for 100yen it was totally worth it XD) and my pinkxwhite long sleeve King of Pandas shirt (seen on the right) which I'm wearing today. There are actually thumbholes in the sleeves since they're so long! I love it! (^^) But overall my outfit is pretty plain today.
We went out to TGI Friday's last night for dinner, and basically got the same food:
I had boneless buffalo wings, ribs & shrimp and lemonade.
He had boneless KungPao wings (sweet&spicy), ribs (spicy) & shrimp and Dr. Pepper.
I originally didn't want to get such similar foods, but I decided it would be worse to give up the foods I wanted to eat at that time. Oh well. We don't always get such similar stuff, though.
I ♥ my Japanese class sometimes. Lately we've been reading Detective Conan in class. The last lesson of the year is always a manga, which is really nice. We're also watching an old old tv drama called "Under One Roof" which is pretty cheesy XD It's not something I'd watch on my own, but now I need to know what happens! But there's no more until next semester. Maybe I'll look it up myself...
We're in the homestretch for this semester, now. Only two-to-three weeks left! But in that time I need to write a 20 page paper on Haruki Murakami. Guh.
Shinku and Hina-Ichigo should be released soon! Shana (of PullipStyle) said they were due to be released in Japan on the 29th so hopefully they'll receive the dolls soon and send them out~
The weather has been SO nice out lately! Like basically late spring early summer. Global warming, anyone? I wish I could capture it to show you all, but if I took a picture it would only show what you can usually see during the fall on clear days, even though they may be cold. I'll just say this: 67 degrees F. In practically December! This probably isn't a record or anything, but I'm certainly appreciating it!
Also, I thought I should note that I do not have a Wii. Not yet. I do plan on getting one, but it's not a top priority. And I most certainly do not have a PS3. I'm not touching those for at least 6 months. I want to know everything that's wrong with it first (^_~)
Who's the hardest person to shop for on your holiday list?
This used to be my father, but now, without a doubt, it's Rob. He's impossible! He doesn't know what he wants, and I can't think of anything! I've only really given him one thing I think he's really liked but other than that, nothing! Gah. Doesn't seem to bother him, though :P
