(hey back at Vox, yayay)
So I'm thinking about getting a new cell phone, and I'm torn. I know I want quad-band, at the very least, and most phones have that, plus EDGE and stuff. But.... do I go with cute
My other choice, which seems completely opposite to the above, is the AT&T Tilt, a.k.a. HTC's TyTN II, Kaiser. This is one awesome phone, in terms of features. Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, Windows Mobile 6, full keyboard (well, all the keys, they're small though, obv.), 3mp camera... it's like a mini laptop, basically. Not quite Ultramobile PC worthy, but for a phone, this is pretty much everything you'd ever need, I think. It's just... well, kind of blah. Grey & black? Come on. The least they could've done is stayed all black, like the original version - I think AT&T's the only one who went duotone on it. I could get a case for it, cover it with sparklies and hope I learn to love it but I just feel so unsure. It doesn't feel.. cute, or me. I mean, the features, wow, I can't imagine ever needing another phone (until tech takes a giant lead forwards, at least) The price is equally... astonishing. Uh, but not in a good way. Around $450, since even with contract it only gets down to $400 - I'm not eligible for any rebates because I don't have a $45+ data plan (since my house doesn't get phone reception, this shouldn't be a surprise but), I'd rather just get it contract-free and worry about renewing the contract when the time comes. Unfortunately even though I'd like to get an unlocked version, the price in that case skyrockets to $700 which I really cannot justify. $450 is pushing it, to be honest, but it's a PDA device which I've been wanting to replace my old (dead) one for over a year now. I was waiting for this to come out so I could upgrade to it, but the upgrade trade off is kinda low.. It's an awesome phone but will I come to hate it because it's not cute enough? Why can't companies make cute, really functional tech? It's like, either we make it cute and dumb it down for 10 year olds who would only use it for myspace, or make it superawesome but the most ugly design ever? I mean, the TyTN II's not so horrible I'd feel like smashing it, but it really gives off a "oh, that phone" kind of vibe. Could I possibly adorn it so you could barely recognize its former self? I think it's got a place to loop a strap, but I'm not positive. .... Hmm.
I'm thinking about setting up a blog on my own domain again. I mean, I hardly use them for anything else. But vox is so convenient! Though the way it's set up doesn't allow for much creativity... I've seen people crossposting from stuff like EE (which I adore and use for my tokyo blog) but I can't quite find information on how that works. I don't know. I just feel like I need to find something to sink my creative teeth into. This is my last semester of college - I'm planning on taking a whole year off from pretty much everything (work, school, and avoiding pregnancy) so I should use that time to do something. There are so many site ideas that I started but never finished... I want to get Rainy Day Lyrics up at least, if nothing else. I have a bunch of it completed, but I'm not 100% happy with my main page layout for the domain. All that makes me want to get a new tablet (^^;) Mine's a 5x8 (I think, it's rather small) and I'd prefer something more like 8x11 or so but that's not really practical with my 福袋 spending right now. Prioritizing is haaard :P I am hoping to get some return on the brand bags though since I don't need two suitcases and I'm not sure exactly what's going to be in them (except for one - I did buy an open Tralala bag from y!J auctions because it had a pink coat with gold buttons, a white/cream hoodie, pink velour tank top and bxw polka dot tank with a shrug. SO CUTE. I couldn't pass it up). I know people have mixed feelings about reselling items received in fuku bags but really, the items are still new with tags. They may be "last season" or whatever but that's no reason for me to give them away for free! I tend to fall into the category of "sell with reduced prices based on the tag value." If you don't like it, don't buy from me (^_~) And really, it works. The couple of times that I've sold items, people have been pretty happy to pay what I asked. (Obviously some brands sell better than others, but in general.)
I miss my pillow (T_T) That's the worst part of travelling for me, I think. I am completely attached to my pillows (combination of the case and the pillow itself) and I can't really get comfortable with hotel pillows. I brought mine with me to Japan obviously but it just wouldn't fit into my suitcase to Hawaii and it was such a short time I thought it'd be okay. I'm going through withdrawal now, though. I also want to do things like organize my new external harddrive, move files around on my laptop, relax and play the Wii (Zelda!), PS3 (haha XD I'm actually playing FFVII on it to test out the internal game save stuff - way to use the new technology) and decide what color of DS Lite I want and BUY IT ALREADY (>_>) I have a $100 giftcard to Circuit City and the pink and white have been going in and out of stock for the past two weeks. I still can't decide... it might come down to what's in stock when I go to the store. Pink would be following a precedent (I have a pink DS) but white is more versitile (a.k.a. if I decide owning all pink electronics is too tacky or Rob wants to use it) and I could just decorate it with removable pretties (I got bunches of 3D cellphone stickies like roses and ribbons) to make it more or less girly as I choose... hmm.. I'm leaning towards white right now, but who knows what will happen in the future.
I wish I had a white phone. I've given up on the pink quest because no one in the US wants to make a truly nice pink phone that I can use with Cingular (I have to say I've never had major problems with them, my parents are also on the plan, there's not reason to switch, especially not for a phone). The Juicy Couture sidekick looked cute, but only has minor functionality with Cingular and is now an old model. Sprint has (had?) the pink Katana which is basically their version of the RAZR but again, not Cingular compatible (curse you Sanyo!) so I figure hey, white is the next best thing right? I could make it look pink better than my ugly blackxsilver flip (which also does not have a strap loop :P oh Nokia. Why did I ever go back to you?) Which is why I was majorly excited about the iPhone, but it actually looks 99% black. Hmm. And with a touch screen, how would a skin work? And I would NEED a skin - knowing Apple it'll be just like the iPod and get scratches just from sideways glances.
.... I'm so chatty today! Okay, enough for now.
